DJ MAGOO History of Glenn MAGOO AirdA legend in the Australian & the world music scene.
The DJ Magoo legend began back in 1984 when he started out as a DJ at local school dances and almost immediately this young man knew he was destined for big things within the music industry. Quickly snapped up by Festival Records (was known as Festival Mushroom Records but in late 2005 was purchased by Warner Music), DJ Magoo (Glenn Aird) began his distinguished career in their Studio, editing tracks for their top artists on their local and international record labels. By night, Magoo DJ'd for private parties and then quickly entered the club scene where he never failed to impress. Demand for Magoo's DJ services grew and in 1991 Magoo was picked up by Tony Short at "Nightlife Disco".
For many years DJ Magoo played to Sydney's biggest rooms to capacity crowds of around 1500 - with tickets often selling out many days before the event! These clubs included "Cheers", "Mirage", "Wiggles", "Colours", "Studs", "Temptations", "Samantha's" & "Skins" in Jindabyne @ The Station Ski Resort to name but a few. In 1995, Magoo took over the DJing for Australia's biggest and longest running "Bluelight Discos".While these clubs were going off every night, in his spare time the mild mannered DJ Magoo was busy making extended dance mixes for Toni Pearen, Teenqueens and Radio Freedom. DJ Magoo was also creating radio edits for the likes of Kylie Minogue, Deni Hines, Urban Cookie Collective, 2 in a Room, Kate Ceberano, The Angels, The Choirboys, Billy Idol, Icehouse, The KLF and Jimmy Barnes. In fact, DJ Magoo was working on most of the early 90's top selling albums.
At the same time his talents were being called upon for many private functions & major corporate events. Weddings & birthday parties for all ages kept Magoo on his toes.DJ Magoo always enjoys working closely with you to plan all your details for that special day/event, taking extra care to make sure your day runs as smoothly as possible with a personal meeting with him prior to your event.
During this time, back in the heart of Sydney, DJ Magoo was also pumping out all the hits as well as providing DJs for Club Retro in Angel Place every Friday night. After 12 months, DJ Magoo was snapped up by another promoter and began working rooms such as the "Kings X Hotel", "Palmz" and the "Albion Hotel". DJ Magoo also worked his magic at "Riche" in the Sydney Hilton creating Sydney's biggest over 30's party every month for nearly a year. News of DJ Magoo's talents spread to the Central Coast, where at "Club Millenium" in the Mingara Recreation Club, he would play to sell out crowds of 1500 most Saturday night. In fact, Millenium won Best Entertainment Venue for 2 years running, with help from the magnificent Magoo. DJ Magoo then stayed on the central coast for a while at "Venue" in The Entrance keeping a smaller crowd well entertained for over 18 months.
Magoo also has Australia's largest RETRO collection for a working DJ. All Digitally Remastered on CD from CD or original masters. (no vinyl dubs). Not many can claim that, PLUS having a knowledge of various generations & styles of music.
Meanwhile, in Festival Audio Post-Production, Magoo continued editing for the likes of N-Trance, Alex Party, The Goo Goo Dolls, Grinspoon, Mark Lizotte(Diesel), Jimmy Somerville, Christine Anu, The Gadflys, Olivia Newton John, Jon English, Amiel & Josh Abrahams… the list is endless. However, not content to let it end there, Magoo set up "The Lobby Studio" operating from his home. The LOBBY Studio creates unique remixes and overdubs and has so far got its hands dirty working on Salt N Pepper, Five, Shanks and Bigfoot and Ann Lee, just to name a few. DJ Magoo also lent a helping hand to Nick Skitz & then in turn Rob Brizzie with their compilations & remixes.
Projects 2000 and beyond.
GRINSPOON / MIDNIGHT OIL tribute record. DJ Magoo is featured scratching on the track "Don't Wanna Be The One". Also featuring on the track was Josh Abrahams (only keyboards not the decks). Radio remix for the world! GWYNETH PALTROW & HUEY LEWIS "Cruisin" which was added to 2DAY FM play list within 2 hrs of landing at the station this pushing the single to TRIPPLE platinum status within 3 days. The single reached NO 1 on 8/01/01(aria chart). The song stayed at No 1 for 5 weeks plus sold over 230,00 units in Australia. Magoo also added finishing touches to her follow up track "BETTE DAVIS EYES". This track only reached DOUBLE Platinum sales (over 140,000). What a way to start the year (2001), back on top!!
Also working & mixing on "MTV IBIZA The Party" for international release. With artist/DJ's including Sister Bliss, Robie Rivera, Paul Oakenfield, Moloko, and Paul Van Dyke…DJ Magoo was the only DJ from Australia to take on the worlds best. Australia Day 2001- DJ Magoo turned his talents to an outdoor community celebration event with production of lighting & sound to cater for an all age crowd of thousands.DJ Magoo was also called upon for final editing touches for various artists who performed at the closing ceremony at the 2000 SYDNEY OLYMPICS. DJ Magoo also does the mastering for Hot Hits. They are the biggest suppliers of music for Dj's & jukeboxes boasting to have the loudest disk against the opposition & always the highest quality (no record dubs here).

When DJ SAMMY was performing at One World Sport "PINK", Darling Harbour for Nightclub Promoter Harry Della, All the equipment had to be in top working order. DJ MAGOO was called in to service & over hall the MARTIN PRO AUDIO System. DJ SAMMY has current remakes of the Bryan Adams Classic HEAVEN plus Days of Summer by Don Henly.

January 2008 We celebrate 20 years of our Company. September 2008, DJ Magoo and the AO VIDEO SHOW warmed up a fantastic 70's Disco themed night at Newcastle Entertainment Center for for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter. Sharing the bill with
